Om Hot Yoga – Class Descriptions
Wondering which yoga class is best for you? Think of yoga as a continuum: on the far left is what we call “gentle entry” yoga and on the far right is a more “flowing and vigorous” style.
Would you rather test the waters first, dipping your big toe in the river… then your foot, leg and full body? If so, “gentle entry” is recommended. If you like to dive into things head first, then, “flowing and vigorous” is probably more your style. Both are great. Neither is better. It depends on you, the day, how you feel.
Ask yourself: What do you seek from this experience? Have you had any injuries? What is your personality like? What is your current fitness level? How old are you? What other activities do you enjoy? Your answers will help you decide where to begin. That’s not to say you can’t experience every flavour of yoga. But first, know thy self.
Om Hot Yoga Level 1 Beginner: These classes will give you more time to learn the poses and ease into your practice. It can also be more meditative or de-stressing.
Om Hot Yoga Level 2 Beginner/Intermediate: These classes are beginner friendly too but offer more challenge physically. Hot Hatha is more set sequence and Hot Flow continually changing. Hot flow will definitely offer you the most challenge.
Om Hot Yoga Level 2b Beginner/Intermediate Strong: These classes are the same as Level 2 but with more variations to give choice and offer more challenge.
Om Hot Yoga Level 3 Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced: The classes are our strongest. Again all level classes but with more focus on strength and challenge. Come to these classes expecting to work hard.
See where you fit in, right now, in your life. Then roll out your mat, and the rest will follow! Om.
